In 1975, the Eagles released the album One Of These Nights, which went to #1 on the Billboard charts. The disc yielded 3 top 5 singles, Take it to the Limit which reached the #4 position, Lying Eyes, which went to #2 and the title track, which climbed all the way to the top spot on the charts. It didn’t seem possible that the band could do even better. In December 1976, however, The Eagles would fly even higher with the release of their 5th studio album. The disc, entitled, Hotel California, and featuring new addition Joe Walsh, would take its place among rock’s masterpieces. Ranked at #27 on Rolling Stones list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, Hotel California would sell over 16 million copies. The album would top the Billboard charts, would 2 singles from the disc, the title track and New Kid In Town. The title track continually appears on lists of the greatest singles of all time. For example, annually, Q104.3 FM in New York ranks the top 1043 rock songs of all time, and Hotel California has been in the top 15 every year since 2001! This soundboard recording captures The Eagles on tour in Asia on February 9, 1976, 37 yearsago this very day, about 10 months before the release of Hotel California.. While no tracks from that soon to be released album appear, the influence of Joe Walsh is already evident on the band's live performances.
