Once you register, you'll have access to hundreds of bootlegs, as well as a host of resources such as artwork links, discographies, music videos, etc.  And there's a great chat box where you can meet a whole cast of characters who all share a common bond; namely the love of listening to and sharing live music.

Speaking of sharing live concerts, if you have any great quality - Soundboard, FM or Excellent Audience - bootlegs that you'd like to share with others., then that's another reason to visit the community area. There's a board for posting Lossy bootlegs and another for posting Lossless shows.

All we ask is that you:
1) Only post unofficial recordings.  No commercial releases are allowed!
2) Include as much info as possible about the show you are posting - band, date, location, set list, etc.
3) Include the source.  We don't want anyone downloading a show to be surprised by the quality.  Folks need to know before they download if they are getting a Soundboard, an FM broadcast or an audience tape.

From April 30 to May 10, 1965, Bob Dylan played 8 shows in England, which renowned filmmaker D. A. Pennebaker captured for the documentary feature Don’t Look Back. The opening scene of that film is the famous sequence in which Dylan displays and discards a series of cue cards featuring selected words and phrases from the lyrics of Subterranean Homesick Blues. That segment is often called a precursor to the music videos made famous by MTV in the 1980s. In 1998, Don’t Look Back was selected for preservation by the Library of Congress as being a "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” work. By the way, Pennebaker would later film the Monterey Pop Festival, capturing breakthrough performances from Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Who, and Otis Redding. In addition to spawning Pennebaker’s film, Dylan’s 1965 UK shows were significant for another reason. They would would be his last solo acoustic tour. Less than 2 months later, Dylan would go electric at the Newport Folk festival, and the rest as they say, is history. This soundboard recording captures Dylan on May 7, 1965, 46 years ago today, in Manchester, the 6th show of the tour. Santana - 1971-04-20 - Munich, Germany (SBD) 

In 1970, Santana had an enormous commercial and critical success with the band's second album, Abraxas, which featured such soon to be classics as Black Magic Woman/Gypsy Queen and Oye Como Va. The album went to number 1, and drew widespread acclaim for its mix of Latin influences with traditional rock arrangements. Then in early 1971, the band added San Francisco teenage guitar prodigy Neil Schon to its lineup, giving the group two dynamic lead guitarists. They took that new line up on tour in Germany in April 1971. This soundboard recording captures Santana in Munich on April 20, 1971, 4 decades ago today.

Counting Crows - 1994-04-14 - Amsterdam, Netherlands (SBD)

Someone must have had a premonition when they asked a then relatively unknown band to fill in for Van Morrison, who skipped his own induction, at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony on Janaury 16,1993.  Later that year, that band released the album August & Everything, whihch went to #4 on the Billbaord charts in the strength of such songs as Mr. Jones, Round here and Rain King. The Counting Crows had arrived. This soundboard recording captures the band on tour in Europe in support of their stunning debut disc, on April 714, 1994, 17 years ago today. 

So Many Roads Gets A New Look

As I added more and more content to this blog, I realized that the 2 column layout I started this site with was no longer doing the job. The one side column was endless, and it took visitors too long too find what they wanted.

So, I searched the web for a 3 column layout, then by trial and error, customized the html code to get the color scheme from the original blog. I then reorganized the site to put most of the announcements, blog stats and ads in the left column, with the blog archive, labels and blog list on the right. Of course, the heart of the blog, the concert posts, reside in the middle.

Hopefully, the new layout looks better and makes it easier for folks to find what they want. By the way, I also updated the logo picture, adding several more bands.

Kingfish - 1976-04-06 - Boston, MA (Ex Aud)

When the Grateful Dead took a hiatus from touring between October 1974 and June 1976. Bob Weir joined his long time pal, Matthew Kelly in the band Kingfish. Weir's arrival had two major impacts on the band, which were both a blessing and a curse. First, Kingfish finally got a recording contract, thanks to the Grateful Dead's new label, Round Records. Second, from that point in they were often identified as Bob Weir's backing band. This excellent audience  recording captures Kingfish with Weir in Boston on April 6, 1976, 35 years ago today.

2000s - #2: Back in the 1970s Elvis Presley originated the concept of a rock star taking up residence at a Las Vegas casino for an extended run of shows. Today we feature Elton John, who, in February 2004, decided to follow in The King's footsteps. Elton made his home away from home Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, where he performed a nightly show entitled The Red Piano. He originally was slated to perform 25 shows a year at Caesar’s over 3 years, but wound up doing over 40 shows annually from 2003 through 2008, before ending the run with around 20 Las Vegas performances in 2009. The set list each night was the same, a run of 15 of Elton’s greatest hits such as Your Song, Bennie and The Jets, Rocket Man and Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting. This soundboard recording captures Elton during the first year of The Red Piano shows on April 4, 2004, 7 years ago today. Download this one to hear Captain Fantastic take over the Las Vegas strip.
