1976 - In 1975, the Eagles released the album One Of These Nights, which went to #1 on the Billboard charts. The disc yielded 3 top 5 singles, Take it to the Limit which reached the number 4 position, Lying Eyes, which went to #2 and the title track, which climbed all the way to the top spot on the charts. It didn’t seem possible that the band could do even better. In December 1976, however, The Eagles would fly even higher with the release of their 5th studio album. The disc, entitled, Hotel California, and featuring new addition Joe Walsh, would take its place among rock’s masterpieces. Ranked at #27 on Rolling Stones list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, Hotel California would sell over 16 million copies. The album would top the Billboard charts, would 2 singles from the disc, the title track and New Kid In Town. The title track continually appears on lists of the greatest singles of all time. For example, annually, Q104.3 FM in New York ranks the top 1043 rock songs of all time, and Hotel California has been in the top 15 every year since 2001! This soundboard recording captures The Eagles on tour on November 6, 1976, 38 years ago today, in Houston, about a month before the release of Hotel California. The band must have suspected that the album’s title track was a classic in the making, as they opened the show with it! Download this one to hear the Eagles on the cusp of making rock history.

Love your site, and appreciate both the music and the commentary. Just a minor correction (could have been a typo)- Hotel California is number 37 (not 27, which you correctly identify as the Joshua Tree in the U2 post) on Rolling Stone's top 500 albums of all time list.
Thanks a lot for reposting the link and all what you're doing for us, to get such fine boots. Nice to hear, that you and your family did get out well from the storm. All the best, bye since next time.
THANK U THANK U THANK U !!!

I keep getting a message saying that the user's public profile is exhausted. I've never seen this before. What to do?
That's because of the wonderful folks at Rapidshare - see this post for more details: http://so-many-roads-boots.blogspot.com/2012/11/rapidshare-limits-downloads.html.
Give me a few days and I'll see if I can put up a new link on another host.
