Mirror Site - Updates & Adjustments

As mentioned a few weeks ago, for the most part, I've gotten very good feedback about the mirror site though there have been some issues with spam and pop ups.  The additions of Mediafire and Filefactory have also been well received.

I have also added Rapidgator as an option, which will be available starting on September 14.

That said, I am going to limit the number of shows I upload to Mediafire.  I have had 3 shows - from Hendrix, Dylan, and Henley flagged for copyright reasons.  I'm not sure if Mediafire will at some point close my account if I get too many flags.  To prevent that, I will only use Mediafire for bands I know are not all that concerned about bootlges.  So, just be aware that Mediafire may not always be a download choice.

That still leaves 11 options, with KRAKEN, SEND.CM, GOFILE and FILEFACTORY seeming to be the easiest when it comes to downloading.  I've had good success with RAPIDGATOR as well when I've had to download from other sites, which is why I've added it.

Here arethe instructions again - I suggest using CHROME as your browser as I have had no issues that way:
  1. After clicking on the link in the post, you'll go to the first mrrored.to page.  Be sure you scroll down to the blue box that says "click here to view file links".  Click on that box.
  2. On the next page, is the list of the 10 sites.
  3. When you click on one of the sites on the page discussed above, you'll go to a new page.  Be sure you scroll down to the blue box where it says "Click here to visit the page on name of host you picked".  Click on that blue box.
  4. You'll now be on the download  site you picked.  Each has its own instructions.  With SEND.cm and Kraken (KF), for example, just click on the blue box that says download. With GoFile, on the far right, under the word Search, is a rectangle with a down arrow in it - click there to download.
Just a reminder - the mirror site only works for folders under 500 mb.  For folders bigger than that, I'll be using Send.cm and/or Gofile which both seem to have very fast upload and download speeds, with few pop ups.

As the 20th century came to a close, the late, great Jimmy Buffett had become far more than a musician. He was an entire industry. Under the Margaritaville brand name, he had launched stores, restaurants, liquors and record companies; just to name a few of his ventures. This FM broadcast from September 4, 1999, a quarter century ago today, exemplified just how Buffett has blended his music with his business ventures. The show was broadcast on his 24 by 7 Radio Margaritaville Station on Sirius XM radio, which he has launched earlier that year

Update to Bob Dylan - 1969-08-31 - Isle of Wght, UK (SBD)

Someone pointed out to me that the original download of Bob Dylan - 1969-08-31 - Isle of Wght, UK (SBD) was missing track 15, I'll Be Your Baby Tonight.

Unfortunately, it was missing from the original source I used.

Fortunately, I found another source - I believe its a soundboard - that included that track, though only at 160 kbps.  I figured something is better than nothing so I added just that track to the original folder.  I then uploaded the fixed folder, including the missing track, and posted a new link.  Just go back to the original post, follow the download link, and you'll have the complete show.

Enjoy the tunz!

PS - grab it fast - just found out its been officially re;eased so links will be coming down soon to protect the site from trouble

In 1980, the Grateful Dead celebrated their 15th anniversary and the shows during the 2nd half of the year, in San Francisco, New Orleans, and New York that included an acoustic set, get most of the attention. But some pretty fine playing was going throughout that year, as evidenced by the fact that portions of the May 6, 7, 15 and 16 shows, the entire September 3 show, the 2nd set of the September 4 show, and the entire November 28 and 30 shows, have all been officially released. This soundboard recording captures the band right before the September official releases, on September 2, 1980, 44 years ago today, so you know the band was in fine form.

For those of you who are old like me, you'll remember when Labor Day weekend meant the Jerry Lewis telethon to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy.  The telethon would start Sunday night and run through Labor day, with Lewis and countless guest stars appealing to viwers at home to call and donate.  Frank Sintatra made his first appearanc on the telethon on September 1, 1975, 49 years ago today, as captured in this TV soundboard recording.  Frank came on stage 3 different times, with each short set including the tune, I Believe I'm Gonna Love You..  By the way, it was Frank who at the next year's telethon reunited Lewis and former partner Dean Martin, who hadn't spoken to one another for 20 years, an emotional moment you can watch here.
