GD 1079 - Back To Back - #1: On December 31, 1978, the Grateful Dead played a legendary show to close Winterland in San Francisco, which has been immortalized with both a CD and DVD release. I actually heard that show as it happened, as it was broadcast live on WNEW-FM in NY. Due to the time difference, I was up until 6 am taping every note. Just 8 days later, on January 8, I was at Madison Square Garden to see the Dead live. Normally, the band wouldn’t head east so soon after New Year’s, but these were make up shows from the fall, when the band had to cancel some dates due to Jerry having laryngitis. Given how well the band had played on New Year's Eve, I was fired up for an extraordinary night. Unfortunately, while the band played well, it wasn’t one of the most memorable shows I attended. Maybe my expectations were too high. Maybe the band was feeling the pressure of making its first appearance at Madison Square Garden (this show and the prior night were the first of over 50 concerts at the World’s Greatest Arena). In any event, I left feeling it was good, but not the ultimate. Just 2 night later, though, on January 10, 1979, 35 years ago today, the band played the show I was hoping for, but of course, I wasn’t in the building. The Dead rocked the Nassau Coliseum that January 10 night with a stellar 2nd set, including outstanding versions of Dark Star and St. Stephen. While no soundboard of the show exists, we do have this excellent audience recording from right in front of the soundboard. Nothing as soothing as 70s grateful dead , thanks for this great show, Speedy , have a question for you, Certain blogs for some reason have listings that only allow you to download a show that is banded together as one track, why is this and is there a way to separate the tracks either before or after the download. Downloaded Pink Floyd Wembly stadium soundboard from 11/16/1974 from a blog called community audio. this is the only site that I have ever seen the complete show in its entirety posted, that particular show is on many blogs but always with the first 3 songs missing for some reason as they start with dark side of the moon, that is not how they began the show however,3 songs from the yet to be released WYWH were done first. do you know where I can get this complete show unbanded or is there a way to unband these shows, thanks so much
Thanks for the kind words. I really can't answer why anothr blog posts shows as a single file rather than individual tracks. I'm sorry but I have never been able to figure out how to seoarate a single file into tracks - I'm sure there'a a way to do it but its beyond my technical knowledge. Sorry I can't help. And sorry - the only sources I know for the Pink Floyd show you mention start with the Dark Side tracks.

I just tested the link and it works fine. After you click on the link it takes you to a depositfile page. Click where it says regular download. On the next page, click where it says Download File in Regular mode by Browser. You'l have to wait 60 seconds, Then enter the answer to the captcha question. After that, click agian where it says Download this file in regular mode by Browser. You should then be able to download the file to youir computer.
Although Deposit Files shows it's there, when you click on this, it then says the file does not exist. When you get a moment in your busy schedule, it would be great if you could upload. Thanks so much.
