1978 - As the 1970s came to a close, David Bowie teamed with Brian Eno on a series of albums called the Berlin Trilogy that reflected a decisive shift in his musical style toward an electronic and avant-garde approach. In 1978, Bowie launched a world tour in support of the first 2 albums of that trilogy, Low and Heroes (the 3rd disc, Lodger would follow in 1979) that ran from March until December, featuring 77 shows on 4 continents. This soundboard recording captures Bowie's near the end of that tour, in Japan on December 12, 1978, 44 years ago today.
