1987 - James Taylor spent a good portion of the 1980s lost both musically and personally, as his marriage to Carly Simon disintegrated and he battled his addiction to heroin. As the decade neared it close, however, a now sober and clean JT began to rebuild his musical career. In early 1988, he released the album Nver Die Young, which went to #25 on the Billboard charts, his best showing since 1981’s Dad Loves his Work. The success of Never Die Young was a precursor to his renewed popularity in the 1990s and beyond.
