2010s - #4: For his 80th birthday in June 2016, Kris Kristofferson releasaed a 25 track collection of songs recorded over three days in the summer of 2014. Enitled the The Cedar Creek Sessions, the two-disc set featured new takes on some of Kristofferson’s most revered tunes, including Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down, Help Me Make It Through the Night, For the Good Times and Me and Bobby McGee. All Music gave the album 5 stars and Rollling Stone wrote the "performances reflect Kristofferson’s craft and bone-dry conviction with the sort of integrity that can only be achieved when such a seasoned songwriter revisits his own history. The disc earned Kristofferson a Grammy Award nomination for Best Americana Album.
