Simon & Garfunkel - 1993-03-01 - Los Angeles (HQ Aud)
In 1987, Paul Simon and Irwin Redlener, MD co-founded the Children’s Health Fund (CHF) to provide health care to homeless children. Their efforts began in New York, and over the years, expanded across the US. In 1993, Simon reunited with former partner Art Garfunkel for the first time in almost a decade to play a benefit concert to help launch CHF in Los Angeles. This high quality audience recording captures their historic reunion for a very worthy cause on March 1, 1993, 19 years ago today. In keeping with our March theme of guest appearances, Simon & Garfunkel are joined by Neil Young during Sounds of Silence. Download this one now, then come back later today for Neil’s set, during which S&G return the favor dropping in to accompany him on 2 songs.
