Welcome to another installment of our October “Back to Back” theme here at So Many Roads. Today and tomorrow’s post feature the Rolling Stones during their 1981 US tour. High quality bootlegs from this tour abound as the Stones taped almost every show to amass material for both a live album release and a concert film. The live disc, entitled Still Life, went to #5 on the Billboard charts in 1982, but critics panned it for its overly slick production that seemed to hide all the rough edges that are essential to a live Stone’s performance. Fortunately, this soundboard recording from October 17, 1981, 31 years ago today, presents the band exactly as they sounded that night in San Francisco, with no artificial overdubs. Download this one now, then come back tomorrow for night #2 in the city by the bay.

Cannot download this show. Clicking on the link (sendspace) just throws me out of your website. I've tried two days. The 10/18 show downloads fine though.
Sorry your'e having trouble. I just tested it and it works fine. Clicking on the link above takes you to a sendspace page. At the bottom of that page is a box that reads "click here to start your download from sendspace". Clikc in that box and you'll get the download. By the way, I use firefox as my browser with no issues.
