For almost 30 years, The Bottom Line, owned by Allan Pepper and Stanley Snadowski, was a Mew York institution, a 400 seat nightclub on the corner of West 4th Street and Mercer that featured some of the greatest rock and roll ever played. It was the venue where Bruce Springsteen went from NY musician to the covers of Time and Newsweek. It was the place where Carlos Santana and Van Morrison both choose in 1978 to debut new material and revitalize their careers. It was the establishment where Lou Reed recorded the album Live: Take No Prisoners and Harry Chapin held played his 2000th concert. While the Bottom Line is now long gone, its spirit lives on in the tapes of the countless live shows that were broadcast from the venue, usually on WNEW-FM in NY.  this FM Broadcast of Squeeze from May 3, 1980, 32 years ago today.
