The Byrds 1970 - Back to Back #1: Roger McGuinn, Clarence White, Skip Battin and Gene Parsons. Those are probably not the 4 names that most people would provide if asked to list the members of the legendary rock band, The Byrds. While McGuinn would clearly be on everyone’s list, I’d suspect that the other names would most likely include David Crosby, Chris Hillman, Gene Clark and even Gram Parsons. Yet, it was the lineup of McGuinn, White, Battin and Parsons, which stayed together from September 1969 to July 1972, that had the longest tenure of any configuration of The Byrds. During that nearly 3 year stretch, the band toured almost non-stop in both the US and Europe, developing a reputation as a formidable live act. This soundboard recording captures McGuinn, White, Battin and Parsons on January 2, 1970, 51 years ago today, playing the early show at the Fillmore West. Later today we'll bring you the late show, and then we'll have 4 more from the byrds at The Fillmopre West over the next 2 days, making for a total of 6 shows in this Back To Back set. Please note: the shows from January 2 and 3 did not come with set lists - I've done my best to piece them together but please leave a comment if you find any errors.

For the 3 Byrd downloads, I can't get the direct links to work and a right click to "save as" only allows HTML file download. Long time visitor.
