The 2001 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony was defined by two bigger than life stars who didn't perform. Michael Jackson accepted the honor live, but then exited. Queen performed several tunes, but of course, without Freddie Mecury who passed away a decade earlier. Paul Simon became a 2 time inductee, having been honored pereviously for his time with Simon & Garfunkel. Steely Dan, Aerosmith and Solomon Burke all took the stage after their inductions, while Ricky Martin played a trio of songs in honor of Ritchie Valens.
