The Allman Brothers Band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall oF Fame in 1995, a ceremony that is primarily remembered for the induction of Led Zeppelin. The band members who were inducted - Duane Allman, Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, Jai "Jaimoe" Johanny Johanson, Berry Oakley and Butch Trucks - reflects the band's original line up from the early 1970s. Later members, such as Warren Haynes, Chuck Leavell, Derek Trucks and Allen Woody, just to name a few, were not included.
This sounboard recording captures The Allmans on March 26, 2004, 2 decades ago today, during one of their legendsry resedencies at the Beacon Theater in New York. Between 1989 and 2014, the Allmans Broters Band played over 170 shows at the Beacon. The band even celebrated their 40th anniversary at the venue, with 15 sold out shows packed with guest stars.
