Los Lobos 2000 - Back To Back - #1: Incredibly in 1998, less than a dozen years after their commercial breakthrough with the album By The Light Of The Moon and their cover of La Bamba, Los Lobos were dropped by Warner records. The band, by the way, had not been resting on their laurels. In 1995, they released the critically acclaimed children's album, Papa's Dream. That same year, Los Lobos won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance for the tune Mariachi Suite. Unfortunately, mixed reviews for the album Colossal Head, released in 1996, led to their dismissal by Warner. In 1999, the band signed with Hollywood Records and released the album, This Time,  This soundboard recording captures them on tour in support of that disc, in Santa Ynez Valley on June 16, 2000, 2 dozen years ago today. Download this one, then come back tomorrow for the 2nd half of this BAck To Back Set.
