In November 1971, Traffic released the disc, The Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys, the band;s 5th studio album. The album climbed to #7 on the Billboard charts, and went gold by February 1972, thought it would be another 24 years before the album went platinum in 1996! Critical opinion of the album varied. Famed critic Robert Christgau gave the disc a B, though his comments were harsher than his grade, as he led off the review by stating that “These guys waste their talent”. The All Music Guide, on the other hand, pronounced that Low Spark “marked the commercial and artistic apex of the second coming of Traffic”. Pop Matters offered yet another viewpoint, calling it “an album that’s easy to listen to over and over, but one that seldom shows up on “best of” lists.” Today we bring you an excellent soundboard of Traffic from February 21, 1972, 52 years ago today! This soundboard recording captures Traffic just 3 months after the album's release, on February 21, 1972, 52 years ago today.

Hey there, Great blog you have here. Thanks for all your hard work. Quick question. Yesterday when I was on T.U.B.E. the link to your site showed you posted an Allmans show from 1971 from New Orleans. When I tried to link to it, I was directed to a page that said it didn't exist. Did you upload that show or was I seeing things. Thanks in advance for the reply.
Paul -- Thanks for the kind words! Glad you are enjoying the site. The Allmans show from New Orleans accidentally went up before I was ready to post it. Check back on March 20 -- I'm saving it for then for a reason you'll find out when it finally posts!
Thank you for all of this. As someone who spent most of the 70's and 80's working in record stores and going to concerts this brings back a lot of memories.
Thanks!
Would you be so kind as to re-post this concert? How will I know that it back up, or that you are unable to re-post it?
Thanks,
Daniel
New link is up! Enjoy!
Thanks for this, speedy!
Re-up please
New link is up - enjoy
