Roger McGuinn with Chris Hillman - 1981-02-10 - New York, NY (FM)

1980s - #3: In the late 1970s former Byrds Roger McGuiin, Gene Clark and Chris Hillman touring formed formed Mcguinn Clark and Hillma, recording an album together. In early 1979, they released their self titled debut album, which spawned the top 40 hit, Don’t You Write Her Off Like That. The trio went on tour together in Spring of 1979 in support of the album. They also began work on a follow up disc,  entitled City, but Clark's unreliability in the stdio an dissatisfaction with the group's musical direction resulted in the disc being primarily a McGuinn/Hillman effort. The 2 then collaborated again in 1981 on an album aptly titled McGuinn - Hillman. This WNEW-FM broadcast captures McGuinn and Hillman on February 10, 1981, 42 years ago this very day, playing tunes from that work as a duo and with the Byrds, follwed by an interview conducted by the legendary DJ, Scott Muni.
