1960s- #1: From 1964 to 1966, the Animals scored 6 top 20 singles on the US Billboard charts - House of The Rising Sun (#1), I’m Crying (#19), Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood (#15), We Gotta Get Out Of This Place (#13), Don't Bring Me Down (#12), See See Rider (#10) (Note - It’s My Life, another classic, reached #23 on the Billboard charts), In 1967, rebilled as Eric Burdon and The Animals, they would score 3 more top 20 tunes - When I Was Young (#15) , Monterey (also #15) and San Franciscan Nights (#9). They’d crack the top 20 one last time in 1968 with Sky Pilot at #14. Less than a year later, The Animals disbanded and Burdon had joined War.
