1970s - #3: On January 16, 1970, 49 years ago today, The Who launched a European tour, as captured in this FM broadcast, with the intent of recording a live album. The set lists featured the rock opera Tommy being played in its entirety, usually followed by a trio of classic rockers - Summertime Blues. Shaking All Over, and My Generation. These shows featured Tommy at its birth - before the movie, before the stage show, before the symphony performances – just the 4 original members of of the band demonstrating pure power and intensity. The legendary Live at Leeds disc would emerge from this tour, taped at The penultimate show of the run on February 14, 1970.

70's era radio broadcast was only in AM in france
with 3 big stations,Europe1,RMC and RTL.
FM arrived in 1975 with FIP,station for car
circulation informations.
Le Théâtre des Champs-Élysées is a very small
location,so i think the reverberation is an effect.
