1981 - In August 1980, Pat Benatar released her 2nd album, Crimes of Passion, featuring the hit single Hit Me with Your Best Shot, which cracked the top 10 on the Billboard charts. The album did even better, peaking at #2 for 5 consecutive weeks in early 1981 and selling over 5 million copies. The album also earned Benatar her first Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance. In August 1981, the video of You Better Run, another cut from the album, would become the 2nd video ever played on MTV.  A month earlier, i July 1981, Benatar released the album Precious Time, which would become her first and only #1 disc. That album featured the top 40 singles Fire & Ice and Promises In The Dark,.as well as a cover of The Beatles' Helter Skelter.Benatar would win a Grammy for Best Female Vocal Oerfromance for Fire & Ice.
