1991 - In the late 1980s/early 1990s, each October WNEW-FM would set up shop for about a week at the Hard Rock Cafe in NManhattan to celebrated the stations's birthday. Legendary DJ Scott Muniwould host the annual celebration.Numerous guests would drop in and spend anywhere from a few minutes to an hour with the tstation, some just doing interviews and others doing full peformances. On October 25, 1991, 31 years ago today, Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook stopped by the Hard Rock Cafe to visit with Muni. promote their recently rleased album, and play a short acoustic set.. This FM broadcast captures it all, including a special bonus of Heart singing Happy Birthday to the station.
