1988 - This WNEW-FM broadcast catches John Hiatt at the Bottom Line in NY, on October 7, 1988, 34 years ago today. Hiatt was at the peak of his success in 1988, having released the album Slow Turing that year, following on the heels of his 1987 breakthrough disc, Bring The Family. Despite the critical acclaim, Hiatt could not generate the fan support to sell out larger arenas. He continued to play small clubs, such as The Bottom Line, which in many ways better suited his musical style. This concert showcases his immense talent on classics such as Tennessee Plates, Thank You Girl, Memphis In The Meantime, Drive South, Slow Turning and Have A Little Faith In Me.
