Led Zep 1977 - #2: As promised yesterday, here’s the 2nd post form Led Zep in 1977. This one lets me  recount my one failed attempt to go see Led Zep. A buddy of mine stood on line at Ticketron (any one remember Ticketron?) to get seats for 8 of us for Friday, June 8, 1977, 38 years ago today. It was the 2nd of 6 shows the band would be playing at Madison Square Garden. We failed, however, to pay attention to the 4 tickets per person limit, so he could only buy seats for 1/2 of us. We pulled names out of a hat, and true to my luck, I didn't get a ticket. The 4 guys who did go, however, complained that the show was a 60 minute drum solo with a couple of songs thrown in. They may have been right, as the whole 1977 US Tour, which was the last Led Zep did in the states, was plagued by problems, including lack of rehearsal time, drugs and violence. It all culminated with the cancellation of the the last 7 shows after the tragic death of Plant's 5 year old son.
