On September 30, 1997, Bob Dylan released the album, Time Out Of Mind, his first recording of original material in over 7 years. For Dylan, the album marked his return to the top of the rock world. The album stayed on the Billboard charts for 29 weeks, climbing as high as number 10. It reached the same chart position in the UK. Time Out Of Mind won 3 Grammy’s at the 1998 awards show, including Album of the Year, Best Contemporary Folk Album and Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for Cold Irons Bound, one of the singles from the disc. Dylan went on a year long, world tour in support of the album in 1998 that would take him to North America (3 different legs), South America, Europe and Australia. This soundboard recording captures him on May 19, 1998, 22 years ago today, in San Jose near the end of the 2nd North American leg. Download this one to hear Mr. Zimmerman’s triumphant comeback. PS - according to the notes that came with this show, the 13 songs are the entire concert.

That is the entire show, Van Morrison opened up, then Joni Mitchell played and Bob Dylan closed. It was a great show, I won a pair of tickets from KFOX in San Jose that morning.
