1980s - #1: Unfortunately, the first year of the 1980s spelled the end of the line for Rockpile after just 4 years together. Ironically, the end came at the very moment that the contractual obligations that once kept the band from recording together ceased being an obstacle. When Rockpile started touring together in 1976, its co-leaders, Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds, were signed to different record labels. That prevented the band from releasing an album under its own name. Instead, they were forced to release albums either under Lowe’s name, such as Jesus of Cool and Labor of Lust, or Edmund’s banner, such as Trax on Wax and Repeat When Necessary. In fact, Jesus of Cool and Heart of The City both featured the same version of the song Heart of The City, but on the former album, the track featured Lowe’s lead vocals while on the latter, the record company dubbed in Edmund’s voice! When Edmunds finally fulfilled his contractual commitments in 1980, Rockpile was finally able to release an album. Unfortunately, the resulting disc, Seconds of Pleasure, while a solid effort, didn’t quite live up to the standard set by the earlier “solo” albums. It was the beginning of the end. By 1981, tensions between Lowe and Edmunds led to Rockpile calling it quits. This TV Sounboard rcording captures Rockpikle during that final year together, in Hamburg, on January 12, 1980, 46 years ago today. NOTE: the original upload was missing a song. That's been corrected! New link up as of 2:30 pm, Monday, Jan 12.

Thanks so much!
Thanks!
Track 11 Promised Land is missing. There are 17 tracks listed & only 16 tracks in the zip. Otherwise Thank you so much. Also here's the video of the show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kSI5c9--HQ
I just fixed the upload to include the missing track. You can sownload it again and you'll have all 17 tracks
Thanks for uploading the missing track, I was the one who pointed it out...
Thanks for the great concert but I disagree that Seconds of Pleasure "didn’t quite live up to the standard set by the earlier solo albums." It's regarded by most as a classic album start to finish.
