In 1986, Neil and Peggy Young founded The Bridge School, an organization to assist children with severe physical impairments and complex communication needs. Neil hosted a benefit concert that year to support the foundation, and has done so every year since, with the exception of 1987. Bridge School Benefit #2 took place on December 4, 1988, 24 years ago today, and holds the distinction of being the only concert in the series not to take place at Shoreline Theater in Mountain View, CA. Instead, the show took place at the Oakland Coliseum. Neil performed a solo set, and was joined later by Crosby, Stills and Nash for a CSNY reunion.
