In June 1995, Van Morrison released the album Days Like This, the 23rd studio album of his long storied career. It also happens to be one of my favorites, filled with wonderful tunes such as Perfect Fit, No Religion, In the Afternoon, Songwriter, and the title track. If you don’t own it and were turned off by some of the mixed reviews, take my word for it - it’s a worth owning. The disc climbed to #33 on the Billboard charts in the US and did even better in the UK, where it reached #5. It was also nominated for The Mercury Prize, an annual award for the best album from the United Kingdom and Ireland. This FM broadcast captures Morrison on his home turf in Dublin, on tour in support of Days Like This. Thanks! If anyone is even slightly interested in Van you have to get this show. The sound quality alone makes it worth grabbing. This could and maybe should have been officially released! The set list isn't too shabby either.
