Our 3rd U2 post here in December takes us back to 1982 and the “Pre War” tour.  Broadcast on BBC Radio, this show captures U2 4 days after the Manchester show we recently posted, on December 6, 1982, 3 decades ago today, from the Hammersmith Palais in London. According to the U2gigs website, the Alarm opened for U2 that night, and Bono joined them to sing Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door. U2’s set featured material from their soon to be released album, a disc that marked a major turning point in the band’s career.
