1990s - #2: In March 1999, Van Morrison released the album, Back On Top, which featured a return to the R&B and Blues music that influenced his earliest records. The disc went gold in both the UK and the US, and became his highest charting album in America since Wavelength in 1978. On July 9, 1999, 2 dozen years ago today, Van Morrison headlined the Rockpalast Open Air Festival in Germany, playing tunes from his latest disc.
