1990s - #2: The induction of Creedence Clearwater Revival into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on January 12, 1993, 25 years ago today, produced one of the most infamous moments in that' institution's history. While John Fogerty, Stu Cook and Doug Clifford all took the stage together to accept their induction into the Hall, Fogerty refused to take the stage and play with his former band mates. Instead, as captured in this soundboard recording he played 4 CCR tunes with the help of Bruce Springsteen and Robbie Robertson.  As indicated in this article from Rolling Stone, Fogerty believed Cook and Clifford had betrayed him by selling their rights in CCR to Saul Zaentz.  Zaentz owned Fantasy Records and sued Fogerty for copy write infringement, claiming he had plagiarized the tune Run Through The Jungle, when he wrote Old Man Down The Road.Needless to say, it was an awkward moment for all involved, and cast a shadow over the enire proceedings.
