EC & SW - 2008 - #1: Few bands stayed together for less time, yet produced as lasting a legacy, as did Blind Faith. They recorded one album, which when released in August 1969, immediately went to #1 on the Billboard charts. They toured in support of that album that same month, the band's only live performances, except for their debut gig in Hyde Park in July. Since the group had less than an hour's worth of material, they also had to play tunes from Eric Clapton's days with Cream and Steve Winwood's time with Traffic. Eric was unhappy that the band seemed to be evolving into Cream, part 2, and by October, Blind Faith was no more. With the exception of 1973’s Rainbow Concert, Clapton and Winwood would not reunite for a live performance for almost 4 decades. Then, on May 19, 2007, about halfway through Winwood's set at the UK’s Country Side Rocks Festival, EC strolled on stage to recreate history. That night's collaboration was followed up by an appearances together at Clapton's Crossroads Festival in July 2007. Then in February 2008, EC and SW played 3 historic shows at Madison Square Garden, playing tunes from Blind Faith, Cream, Traffic and their solo careers.  We'll bring you all 3 of those over the next few days, starting with this excellent audience recording from February 25, 2008, 32 years ago today.
