Jorma Kaukonen - 1985-12-01 - Chicago IL  (early) (SBD)

Jorma 1985 - Back To Back - #1: In 1979, Jorma Kaukonen, legendary guitarist for the Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna, flirted with punk and new wave music, forming a band called Vital Parts, covering his body with tattoos and cutting his hair and dying it orange and purple. Fortunately, after a few years, Jorma came to his senses and went back to doing what he did best, playing rock and roll, especially acoustic guitar.  In 1985, he reunited with Jack Casady to reform Hot Tuna. Also that year, he released a solo acoustic album, Too Hot To Handle, and went on tour in support of that disc. This soundboard recording captures him during that tour at the early show on December 1, 1985, 38 years ago today in Chicago, where's he joined by the one and only David Bromberg.  Downlaod this one, the come back later today for the 2nd part of this Back To Back Set
