One guitarist who most certainly gets overlooked in rankings is Robbie Robertson of The Band. While The Band didn't didn't play extended jams like their partners at Watkins Glen, The Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers, that didn't mean Robertson couldn't play the ax with the best of them, Just check out his exchange with EC during the Last Waltz during Further On Up The Road for proof. EC clearly recognized Robertson's skills, inviting him to the 2007 Crossroads Festival, which will post later this month. In the meantime, this high quality recording captures the original line up, including Robbie Robertson, on July 16, 1976, 41 years ago today, during their final tour leading up to The Last Waltz.

This show is now commercially released. It appears it actually occurred on 7/17/76 and then was broadcast on King Biscuit on 8/16/76. But the commercial release does appear to be the same show that is posted here.
