Led Zeppelin was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 1995, and we'll have their entire set from that night in a post tomorrow. All 3 surviving members - Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones - attended the ceremony. While the 3 put aside any differences for their set, with the late John Bonhan's son, Jason, on drums. during the induction speeches, Page and Jones took several shots at one another, resulting in some uncomfortable meoments for all in attendance.

This post goes back to tbe very beginning of Led Zeppelin's legendary carrer. On January 12, 1969, the band released their self-titled debut album, and rock and roll was never the same again. Over the next 10 years, Led Zep would become one of the immortal bands in rock history, as their fusion of rock and the blues launched what would eventually become known as heavy metal. Their first album featured songs that would become staples of their live performances for years to come, including Good Times Bad Times, Dazed and Confused, Black Mountain Side, and Communication Breakdown. While at the time, the album received largely negative reviews, today, critics are almost unanimous that the album was one of the finest debut discs ever recorded. The Times in London ranked it as the 41st greatest album of all time, while Rolling Stone magazine placed it in the #29 position on its list of the top 500 best albums. The day before the album hit stores, Led Zep played a concert at the Fillmore West in San Francisco. This recording of that show, from January 11, 1969, 55 years ago today, is the earliest known Led Zep soundboard.
