1970: In early 1970, Creedence Clearwater Revival was riding an immense wave of commercial and critical success. Between January and April, the band released the hit singles Travelin' Band, Who'll Stop The Rain, Up Around The Bend and Run Through The Jungle. In February, they appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. In June, they would go into the studio to record what many have called their best album, Cosmo's Factory, which went straight to number 1 on the Billboard charts when released in July. Who would have guessed then, that by year end, Tom Fogerty would leave Creedence, the first in a series of internal dissensions that would eventually lead to the band's demise in 1972. This soundboard recording the legendary Fillmore East in New York, from March 14, 1970, 47 years ago today, captures the band, therefore, at a its peak, before dissension of the band members and tension with their record company would bring it all crashing down.

Thanks, but this sounds a lot like the boot from Fillmore West recorded in July 1971 ( Fillmore closing week) !

Pig Street - thanks for the set list comparison.
Juan - I don't think this is the same show as the Fillmore West from 07-04-1971 - and Pig Street's set list seems to confirm that - but old old tapes like this one may easily be mislabeled. I post them as I get them - and this one says 03-14-1970so that's what I'm going with!
This show is the audio from a radio show called "RetroRock." It is a combination of CCR shows at the Oakland Coliseum in 1970 and the Fillmore West from 1971. Great Sound, but both are available in complete form as "In Concert" and "Last Exit."
That one still works. Thanks a lot
