1974: After leaving Traffic in 1969, Mason released a solo album every year from 1970 through 1975. His best charting single during that period was Only You Know and I Know, which hit Number 42 on the Billboard charts in 1970. His biggest success, however, would come in 1977, with the release of the album Let It Flow. That disc would produce 3 top 100 tunes - So High at #89, Let It Go Let It Flow at #45 and We Just Disagree at #12. This high quality recording, however, is from before that run of hits, as it features Mason on March 2, 1974, 43 years years ago today, from the Orpeheum Theater Concert Hall in Boston. By the way, while many shows in the Northeast during this time were taped by Dan Lampanski, this one was recorded by Steve Hopkins. One other note - Mason plays a cover of All Along The Watchtower., a highly appropriate choice since he played acoustic guitar on Jimi Hendrix's legendary version of that tune!
