The Band - 1978-03-01 - Los Angles, CA (SBD)

1978:  Most rock fans know that The Band disbanded in 1976, playing their last show at Winterland on Thanksgiving, a concert filled with special guests that was immortalized on the film, The Last Waltz.  And, its common knowledge that the group reformed in 1983, san Robbie Robertson and resumed recording and touring.  WHat's far less well known, however, is that for one brief moemnet in 1978, the original b=band reunited for just a few brief moments.  At a Rick Danko concert in Los Los Angeles on March 1, 1978, 39 years ago today,  Garth Hudson, Richard Manuel, Levon Helm and even Robbie Robertson joined Danko on stage to reprise some classic Band tunes.
