Allman Brothers - Double Play 1996 - #1: When the Allman Brothers reunited in the early 1990’s. a pivotal element of their new found success was the guitar play of Warren Haynes. Haynes decided to leave the band in early 1997, however, in part to focus full time on Gov’t Mule and in part, because of on-going dissension with Dicky Betts. So, the 1996 tour really represented Warren’s last hurrah with the band. until he returned in 2000. This soundboard recording captures the Allmans with Warren on July 5, 1996, 16 years ago today.
