As legend goes, Steve Winwood reformed Traffic in 1994 after a Dead Head left a message for Bob Weir suggesting that if would be “cool” if The Dead and Traffic toured together! I’m not quite sure how true that is, but Traffic did come back together in 1994, and they were the lead-in band for the Grateful Dead’s summer tour! This soundboard recording cpatures Traffic during that summer tour in Washington Dc on July 17, 1994, 20 years ago today.

Thank you for this! I saw 2 of those summer's shows and they were pretty special. Traffic really was, well, Traffic and they were amazing.
'94 was a pretty tough year for the Dead and Garcia in particular, but the summer run was fun.
I don't have many concert regrets, but one of my main ones is missing out on this latter-day Traffic tour... so hearing this will be a great way to make up for it! Thanks a lot speedy!
