In several posts here at So Many Roads, we’ve discussed the Live From The Record Plant series of shows that KSAN-FM would broadcast each week during the early 1970s. Those programs, which originated from Sausalito CA, featured rock artists playing live before a small studio audience. Not to be outdone, the East Coast had a similar series of shows broadcast on WLIR-FM from Ultrasonic Studios in Hempstead NY. The roster for those broadcasts included Billy Joel, Lou Reed, Peter Frampton, Little Feat, The Band, Jackson Browne, The Doobie Brothers, and Hall and Oates, just to name a few. This WLIR-FM broadcast from the Ultrasonic Studios features the Marshall Tucker Band, on April 22, 1975, 45 years ago today.

Great to know that blogs like yours still post the classics. The Marshall Tucker Band ruled the airways in the mid to late 70's. Thanks again.
