In 1979, 2 musical legends, Willie Nelson and Leon Russell collaborated on an album called One For The Road. In many ways, One For The Road continued the work Willie had started with his previous album, Stardust. where he covered 10 legendary pop standards, such as the title track, Georgia on My Mind, Blue Skies and September Song. Stardust had received rave critical reviews, and went to # 1 on the Billboard Country charts, as well as #30 on the magazine's top 200 album chart. While One For The Road wasn't as successful critically or commercially, the concept of covering standards continued, as the album included covers of Danny Boy, Don't Fence Me In Stormy Weather and You Are My Sunshine, just to name a few. It also featured Willie and Leon teaming up on Heartbreak Hotel, which was released as a single and went to #1 on the Billboard Country charts.  The duo decided to tour in support if the album, including this show from New Jersey on April 1, 1979, 41 years ago today.
