The first Telluride Bluegrass Festival was organized in 1974 by members of the Fall Creek Boys. Approximatey 1000 people attended! Since then, the festival has grown into a 4 day event, with attendance of approximately 12,000 each day. While tehe ven has promarily stayed true to its bluegrss roots, artists such as Elvis Costello, Robert Plant, Phil Lesh, Steve Winwood, John Fogerty, Bruce Hornsby, and Counting Crows, just to name a few, have all played Telluride. This sooundboard recording captures the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band with a host of special guests at teh Festival on June 23, 1989, 3 dozen years ago today.
