As we mentioned a few days ago, New York has always used its plethora of horse race tracks as venues for rock concerts. In fact, on September 8, 1974, 38 years ago today CSNY took up residence at one for the final stop on their US tour, before they flew to England for a single show at Wembley on September 14. This one is from Roosevelt RACEWAY in Westbury, Long Island. Their August 8 show, exactly one month earlier, was from Roosevelt STADIUM in Jersey City, NJ, another historic Ny/NJ venue that we have discussed in numerous posts on this blog. Now that we’ve cleared up the venue situation, it's on to the music. This show was another mammoth affair, 33 songs long, including 2 electric sets and 1 acoustic one. Maybe CSNY subconsciously knew this would be the end for a long while (next time they toured was 2000!), as they pulled out all the stops at this show. Right from The Love The One Your With into Wooden Ships opening pair, you can feel the energy that carried over into the entire performance. Carry On is a frenzied marathon, with the band seeming on the verge of disintegrating in a hailstorm of guitar lines and feedback. The sound is outstanding, as this is the show is the one complete soundboard from 1974 in circulation. Download this one to own a historic moment in the legendary history of both CSNY and NY area concerts

Thanks speedy! The fact that this is a SBD makes it a must-have for me.
Many, many thanks-I'm enjoying this as well as several others and look forward to what you will be adding. You do a FANTASTIC job!
Thanks for the kind words! Keep checking back. Plenty more good stuff in the coming days and weeks!
Can't seem to get the download to work..it kicks back around 6.94 or 3%..says server unavailable. Help! Thanks
I just downloaded it so it is working. You may have to try a different browser. I use firefox with no issues.
What do you click on to download this? Some files have a Hotfile or Megaload link, but many don't, I can't see anything here?? Tried Firefox, Chromium & Chrome Thanx. ;o)
In the middle of the post, under the setlist, you'll find the following in blue type: Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – 1974-09-08 – Westbury, LI (SBD)
Click on that and it will take you to megaupload whee you can download it.
Thanks for sharing.
I really appreciate the post and the first half is great, but the second half is NOT a soundboard. After "Long May You Run" the sound quality decreases drastically. It sounds like an audience recording from the p.a., with no bottom and much more distant vocals and instrumentation.
Still there's plenty of good stuff here. Thank you!
Thanks for the CSNY Speedy, is Joni Mitchell on stage at this show? heard she made some apearences at various shows on this tour, thanks again
Sorry - not sure if Joni Mitchell makes an appearance on this one.
