Twenty five years after the original festival, rock royalty came together once again at Woodstock in August 1994. That 25th anniversary concert was originally scheduled for August 13 and 14 and billed as “2 more days of peace and music”, borrowing from the 1969 concert’s promotional posters. A 3rd day was eventually added on August 12. Interestingly, many of the artists who played Woodstock 1994 did not perform at the original festival. Last year we presented 2 such bands, Traffic and The Allman Brothers. Today, we have another legend who missed out on 1969, the one and only Bob Dylan. This soundboard recording captures Dylan on August 14, 1994, 2 decades ago today, performing before an audience of 350,000. Despite the rain and mud, conditions similar to those in 1969, the crowd was mostly well behaved and embodied the spirit shown by those who attended the original Woodstock. Lewis is correct on both counts, this one catches Bob and band giving a smoking hot presentation, with excellent sound here to really savor.
