Dion made a name for himself in the late 1950’s and early 1960s, with such tunes as Runaround Sue and The Wanderer. In the late 1960s, he made headlines with the tune Abraham, Martin and John. He has been cited as influence by some of the biggest name s in rock. For example, The Beatles selected him as one of only 2 rock artists to appear on the cover of the Sgt Pepper album, the other being Bob Dylan. Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon and Lou Reed all credited Dion with influencing their musical style. This high quality recording captures Dion at the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park on August 26, 1989, 29 years ago today. That was the same year, by the way, that he achieved rock’s highest honor, being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame,

Wow, enlightening - have heard his music all my life - always thought he was old school Motown/Midwestern 50's - 60's DooWop layover - Heard over the airwaves in one shot snippets - Never heard all the artist's works gathered in one layout - My loss - Amazing talent !
