In the early 1990’s, Tom Petty took a break from the Heartbreakers to work ion his second solo album, Wildflowers, which was released in 1994. He reunited the band, however, in 1995, and in 1996 released a disc which served as the soundtrack to the film, She’s The One. The album went to #15 on the Billboard charts. In January and February 1997, Petty and the Heartbreakers played a 10 night run at the Fillmore in San Francisco, in addition to songs from the She’s The One album, Heartbreaker classics and tunes from Petty’s solo career, each nigh featured a host of incredible cover tunes. This soundboard or FM broadcast, captures the last night of The Fillmore run, on February 7, 1997, 18 years ago today.

Much thanks speedy, Petty rules, one of the last surviving rock legends, uncompromising in his style and approach. Why cant todays music be like this instead of the crap that the media force feeds us .Is Howie Epstein on this show, know that he passed away from a drug overdose sometime around this time , not sure of the date. The harmonies between Tom and Howie were a thing to behold beautiful beyond belief. Tom says he still tears up remembering Howie and the great contrubutions he made during his time withthe band. Thanks

Howie passed away in February 2003. he was a member of the Heartbreakers from 1982 to 2002, so most likely he was at this hsow.
Howie, so sad , such a talent, The lineup with him was by far the best. know that he had many demons depression made worse by drug addiction. Everyone who knew him loved him. Tom and the rest of the band as well as Stevie Nicks all tried to help him to no avail.Tom said he could play anything and sing like an angel. RIP Howie your fans love and miss you. you are not forgotten
didnt howie play with del shannon before joining tom? seems i remember hearing something about it
Im also curious about the del shannon rumors, also Speedy . was this one or two sets. Pettys shows were normally clocked in about an hour and a half and this show runs over three hours, Petty never known for marathon shows like Bruce, Zep, The Dead ecc, Thanks
Sorry - have no info on the del Shannon rumors. All I know about this show is what i have included in the post
just curious about whether it was more than one set as marathon sets seemed to end in the 70s unless its Springsteen of course, not complaining mind you no such thing as too much Petty.in fact he could play for 4 hours and i would still want more, Speedy i want to thank you for all the great posts as well as being one of the nicest bloggers on the web, truly appreciate all that you do , know it must be a lot of work running a blog like this

Disc 2 is missing track 09 angel dream is there a way you can fix this
The download includes Disc 2 Track 9 entitled Guitar Boogie Shuffle. Could be the set list incorrectly lists it as Angel Dreams. In any event, you have every track that I have.

While I'm late, I can tell Anonymous that this was part of a 20 night stand at the Fillmore...the band played longer sets than usual and brought on guests. The show had an intermission. I've still got my original cassettes of the show around here somewhere....
