Van Morrison, while serving as the lead singer for Them, released his first single, Gloria, in October 1964! Some 5 decades later, he continues to record and tour, often accompanied by his daughter, Shana. This excellent audience recording, for example, captures Van and Shana on February 17, 2014, just a year ago today, in Brighton. He may be inscrutable some times, and downright ornery at others, but he is still the one and only Van The Man, whose live performances often take on the feeling of a religious revival, prompting his backing band to ask “Did Ye Get Healed Tonight”. The answer, far more often than not, is a resounding YES!
