Grateful Dead - Back To Back 1990 - #1:  For the Grateful Dead, 1990 was a year of triumph, tragedy and truckin on. The Spring 1990 tour found the band in peak form, so much so that every show from that run was officially released, a distinction afforded to only one other tour in the band's history - the legendary Europe 72 run. Then in July, the band lost keyboardist Brent Mydland to a drug overdose.  Undaunted, the Dead brought on Bruce Hornsby and Vince Welnick to handle the keyboards, and continued to play magnificent shows throughout the fall.  Five shows from that fall run - September 16, 18, 19, 20 and October 26 have all been officially released. This soundboard recording finds the band back on their home turf near the end of that landmark year, on December 3, 1990, 27 years ago today.
