1977 - For Fleetwood Mac, 1977 was the year of Rumours, an album about and fueled by the emotional tensions within the band as long term relationships between John & Christine McVie, Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham, and Mick Fleetwood and his wife Jenny, all came to an end. Rumours went to #1 on the Billboard charts, won the Grammy for album of the year, garnered critical acclaim, and has sold over 19 million copies, making it one of the top 10 best selling albums of all time. The album also helped launch another new rock trend - a glossy, polished, highly produced sound that in many ways became synonymous with the album/radio oriented rock of the decade.
