1979 - A few years ago, Dave's Picks 31 was released featuring the Grateful Dead live in Chicago on December 3, 1979. In the notes accompanying the CD, Dave Lemieux (the Dave in Dave's Pick's) noted that the Dead's performances in late 1979 felt fresh. That in large part was thanks to new keyboardist Brent Mydland, whose impact on the band, according to Lemieux, was "instant, inspired and inspiring." The Dead also brought to the table during that time a slew of new songs, which would be released the following year on the Go To Heaven album, including Alabama Getaway Far From Me, Althea, Feel Like a Stranger, Lost Sailor, and Saint of Circumstance. This soundboard recording captures the Dead in Indianapolis a few nights after the concert released on Dave's Picks 31, on December 7, 1979, 42 years abo this very day!
